Luis Reis, graduated in Mechanical Engineering and received his PhD degree at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) – University of Lisbon (UL), where he is Associate Professor and has been teaching and simultaneously conducting and coordinating research (IDMEC/ LAETA), on several different fields such as Product Design, Mechanical design, Mechanical characterization of materials, Structural integrity, Material´s selection. He has been a collaborator in several International and National research projects and has been training several PhD and MSc students. He has been active in peer review activity for different international journals and he is author/co-author of numerous publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
