Founder
Miguel Amaral holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Lisbon, an MSc in Engineering Policy and Technology Management, a degree in Economics and an Advanced Diploma in Communications Science. Miguel presently works as a tenured Assistant Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) – Universidade de Lisboa and as a Research Associate at the Center for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research, IN+/IST, where he integrates the Laboratory of Technology Policy and Management. Miguel’s research interests and teaching focus mainly on Technological Change, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Industrial Dynamics and Human/Social Capital. Miguel is a co-founder of the Social Innovation Lab at IST – U.Lisboa and he has been involving MSc and PhD engineering students and national and international partners on several projects on the interplay between engineering and social impact (aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals).
